SUMMARY:ISANA:  QLD Branch onsite -  Critical Incident Management Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Postponed to early 2022\nPlease join colleagues for a hands-on style workshop together with comprehensive discussion about how to manage critical incidents.  The session will unpack institutional obligations under the ESOS Act\, what to include in a critical incident policy and best practices in critical incident management.  Resources available to institutions in the event of a critical incident will also be discussed.\nPart of the workshop will involve participants working in groups to address real life scenarios and develop the most appropriate response to manage the situation including actions taken during the event\, follow-up to the incident and recording the incident.\nCost:\n\nISANA Member $80\nNon-Member $160\nWorkshop including ISANA Membership $240\n\nFacilitators:\nLouise Myers\nManager International Student Support\nJames Cook University\nEmail: louise.myers1@jcu.edu.au\nLouise is the Manager of the International Student Support team at James Cook University in Cairns and Townsville.  She spent many years as a teacher in North Queensland and in the Torres Strait Islands before transitioning to the tertiary sector in 2013.  Louise has been a member of ISANA for 3 years and is passionate about ensuring students studying in regional Queensland have a positive experience.  Being a native Far North Queenslander herself\, Louise understands the challenges students may face.  She brings a unique perspective and contribution to the ISANA Queensland committee.  Louise lives in Townsville with her husband and three children and when not at work she enjoys camping\, cooking and reading a good book. \nKevin Schefe\nKey Account Manager Qld & NT\nAllianz Partners Australia\nEmail: KSchefe@allianz-assistance.com.au\n Kevin Schefe represents Allianz Partners Australia in the OSHC Market for Queensland and Northern Territory. Kevin has a unique understanding of the market he manages as it comprises of both metropolitan and regional locations which often presents differing health requirements and challenges with access to services. Prior to his appointment with Allianz Partners Australia over three years ago\, Kevin spent several years working in the education sector in a number of leadership roles. Kevin is based in Brisbane\, Queensland with his wife and young son and enjoys weekends filled with friends\, family and plenty of laughs. \nVanessa Cannon\nChief of Staff\nJames Cook University\nEmail:  chiefofstaff@jcu.edu.au\nVanessa Cannon is the Vice Chancellor’s principal aide\, providing support and advice on a broad range of governance and management issues. She oversees\, directs and coordinates a range of cross portfolio strategic initiatives; and drafts or oversees the development of position and policy papers. She is also responsible for a number of corporate governance functions including the University Secretariat\, governance and executive policy\, legal services\, media and communications\, corporate records\, risk\, insurance\, compliance\, and internal audit. She is also the University’s Critical Incident Coordinator\, Risk Management Coordinator\, a member of the Vice Chancellor’s Advisory Committee\, and Deputy Chair of the Vice Chancellor’s Health\, Safety and Environment Advisory Committee. Board directorships include the Museum of Underwater Art Ltd\, and previously the Council of James Cook University\, and JCU Health (formerly UniHealth).
