DESCRIPTION:We invite you to join this online session on ESOS related issues. \nParticipants will be encouraged to send in any questions and topics prior to the session. \nMr Geza Karacsony has been active in international education for over 25 years\, both in the ELICOS and higher education sectors. He was the convener of the NSW/ACT universities’ ESOS Reference Group for 15 years until 2021. He established\, together with Robert Barret (Monash) and Simon Davies-Burrows ECU) the IEAA Admissions and Compliance network and was its inaugural convener between 2014 and 2018. \nGeza is also an active member of ISANA and ATEM and has been organising and participating in various conferences\, advisories\, forums and networking events over the decades with peak bodies\, government departments and colleagues to share knowledge\, insights and expertise.

DESCRIPTION:Upcoming two day course 27 & 29 April\n\nRegistration Open: CLICK HERE\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Blended Online MHFA Workplace Course has been adapted from the Standard Mental Health First Aid Course for adults.\nIn this informative and practical course you will learn about the signs and symptoms of common and disabling mental health problems in adults\, how to provide initial help\, where and how to get professional help\, what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective\, and how to provide mental health first aid in a crisis situation using a practical\, evidence-based action plan. \nThis course focuses on the workplace and provides relevant information and tailored scenarios and exercises that will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to provide initial mental health first aid to assist colleagues\, clients\, and other workplace contacts who may be developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis\, and how to connect people needing assistance to existing workplace supports and external professional help. \nDeveloped in response to COVID-19\, the new Blended Online MHFA Workplace Course includes two course components. \nCourse component 1\nSelf-paced interactive eLearning\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDeveloping mental health problems covered: \n\nDepression\nAnxiety problems\nPsychosis\nSubstance use problems\n\n\nMental health crises covered: \n\nSuicidal thoughts and behaviours\nNon-suicidal self-injury\nPanic attacks\nTraumatic events\nSevere psychotic states\nSevere effects from alcohol or other drug use\nAggressive behaviours.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCourse component 2\nInstructor-led videoconferencing (2 x 2.5 hour sessions)\nThis course component allows participants the opportunity to revise and consolidate practical skills in a group environment.\nThe video conferencing component is designed to be delivered after participants have completed the eLearning component of the Blended Online MHFA Workplace Course. \nIn this training\, delivered over video conference from wherever you are\, the focus is on the revision and application of knowledge and skills learnt in the eLearning component. The video conferencing includes large and small group activities\, providing participants with the opportunity to: \n\nRevise the eLearning content and the MHFA Action Plan\nClarify any points of uncertainty remaining after completion of the eLearning modules\nApply the MHFA Action Plan to relevant scenarios\nDiscuss and reflect ‘a where to from now’ in using mental\nDevelop a self-care plan to maintain good mental health.\n\nFurther Information\nAlthough most people who attend an MHFA course feel very positive afterwards\, for some it may bring on some unpleasant feelings\, particularly at times of great stress. Enrol and complete Course Component 1 – eLearning \n2. Attend the Course Component 2 – Video conferencing (2 x 2.5 hour sessions) with one of our accredited MHFA Instructors. \nIf you have any questions check the FAQ for Blended Online MHFA courses.\nFind and book Course Component 2 – Instructor-led videoconferencing sessions (2 x 2.5 hours) with an accredited MHFA Instructor\nThe Instructor-led video conferencing sessions (2 x 2.5 hours) are not centrally coordinated by Mental Health First Aid Australia. It is the responsibility of course participants to enrol in the video conferencing sessions at an appropriate time\, after completing the eLearning. Remember to check the time zone as your Instructor may be conducting the sessions in a different State or Territory. \n\nThe eLearning course component of this course is being provided nationally at the subsidised price of $55 including GST until 31 December 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants will learn the signs and symptoms of mental health problems\, where and how to get help and what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective. \nThis 12 hour (two day) course has been developed for members of the public and workplaces.
