How integrated is your Digital Security process? The Holistic Digital Security Framework (HDSF) & AGM

This session will introduce you to the HDSF, which has been developed as a flexible tool to allow organisations to consider their whole Digital Security needs.

The topic of cyber security, privacy and data security are intrinsically linked and directly relate to identity management which is at the intersection of cyber, data and privacy.

Principles, policies, design, and operations must be seen as an integrated whole, and reporting to senior executive teams (or Board and CEO) must be conducted on this basis to provide an overall view, and to ensure there are no conflicting policies, procedures, or gaps between components.

The HDSF has been developed to:

  • assist organisations to develop an integrated approach to digital security
  • provide guidance to management on their responsibilities
  • provide a process that can be used to assess the status of digital security
  • Provide a process that will integrate with audit and risk processes
  • ensure legal compliance and applicable regulations.

Greg understands the dependency that organisations have on IT in today’s environment. He has worked with organisations to ensure systems and processes are secure, robust, sustainable, and recoverable.

In early 1992, shortly after joining UTS as IT Director, he was asked by a Govt Authority to interview a hacker who with a colleague, hacked into a number of high-profile US Govt organisations. His interest in cybersecurity has increased since that event. He has recently developed a different approach to Digital Security which is particularly focused on Board Directors, CEOs and Executive Management. He has post graduate degrees in Engineering and Finance, as well as being certified in Cybersecurity with (ISC)2.
