Member Statement

Eligibility

Anyone who is engaged in the field of international education, who is committed to the objects of the Association (Constitution p4), and who undertakes to uphold the ISANA Code of Ethics.

Members of ISANA may not promote goods and/or services through the ISANA network without the express written permission of the local ISANA branch.

The ISANA logo is a trademark and may not be used by any ISANA members without the express permission of the ISANA National Council.

Members found to be breaching any of the above, may be formally reprimanded or expelled from the organisation.

Standing For Office

Members wishing to stand for office need to be mindful of their professional capacity to fulfill their obligations in office. Any member holding office needs to be mindful of potential conflict of interest, commit themselves to the objects and adhere to the ISANA Code of Ethics.

Members wishing to stand for office need to be aware of their obligations to represent the membership, and to understand the field of international education. Standing for office and representing ISANA requires an awareness of the interests of Members, and the current issues relating to international education including student issues.

Members nominating or voting for office bearers are encouraged to seek people with the capacity to fully represent the membership, and to serve the Association impartially and with genuine commitment.

Membership Categories

Individual Full Member

  • Designed for anyone actively engaged in the field of international education, committed to the objectives of the Association and interested in attending professional development activities.
  • Individual Full Members have full voting and office-bearing rights.
  • This membership is not transferable.

Individual Associate Member

  • Designed for anyone who is interested in keeping up to date with trends in international education, committed to the objectives of the Association and interested in attending professional development activities.
  • Individual Associate Members do not have voting or office-bearing rights.
  • This membership is not transferable.

Life member

From time to time National Council may award Life Membership to a Member who has made an outstanding contribution to the life and development of the Association. Same rights as an Individual Full Member.

Organisational Membership

  • Includes five individuals employed in your organisation who are actively engaged in the field of international education and committed to the objectives of the Association.  These five Individual Full Members will have voting and office-bearing rights.
  • Also allows for unlimited additional individuals from the organisation to attend ISANA professional development at a discounted fee (not including the National Conference).  These additional staff are not members and do not have voting or office-bearing rights.
  • This membership is transferable, if a staff member leaves, another person can take their place. This is limited to a total of two transfers per membership year.
