Responding to and eliminating gender-based violence in higher education

With the National Higher Education Code now setting expectations across the sector for the prevention of and response to gender-based violence, higher education providers must move beyond intent to implement —this hybrid session unpacks exactly how.

Participants will unpack each of the seven standards through both a compliance lens—what institutions must do, by when, and how—and an operational lens, exploring the real-world implications for HR, governance, student administration, student support, academic support, and related functions.

The session will also clarify regulatory oversight, including who the regulator is, how enforcement is expected to operate, and how engagement will occur across the higher education regulatory landscape.

Concluding with an open Q&A, participants will be invited to ask questions and discuss hypothetical scenarios to support practical understanding and application across institutions.
