Annette Kalczynska

About Annette

Annette has been actively engaged in the Australian education sector since 2008, contributing to both public and private institutions across Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Higher Education. Her expertise includes marketing and communications, admissions and enrolment, compliance and governance, student engagement and support, pastoral care, institutional development, and strategy. Annette’s deep passion for International Education in Australia is rooted in her own experiences as an international student. Prior to her career in education, Annette worked as an entrepreneur and held management roles across various industries, including construction, accommodation, advertising, and marketing. She is also actively involved in volunteering with several organizations within the Polish community in Australia and has served as a board member for the Polish Club Ltd. Annette has been an active member of the ISANA ACT/NSW branch executive committee since 2018, demonstrating her strong commitment to supporting international students and professionals in the education sector. Over the years, she has taken on a variety of key roles within ISANA, including Branch President, Communications Manager, and Vice President. Most recently, she has served as Vice President of Professional Development, where she has focused on enhancing professional growth opportunities for members and fostering best practices within the field of international education. Through her leadership roles at ISANA, Annette has contributed to strengthening the organization’s presence and influence while advocating for the needs and welfare of international students. Her involvement reflects her dedication to building a supportive and inclusive international education community.

Khim Gautam

About Khim

Works at Central Australian College (CAC).

Khim is a committed and enthusiastic education professional with over 20 years of experience across primary, secondary, Vocational Education and Training (VET), and university sectors in Australia and overseas. He has served as a Founder Principal and lecturer and currently works as the National Training and Campus Manager at Central Australian College. Khim has strong expertise in VET compliance, academic leadership, and organisational quality. He is also a PhD candidate at Charles Darwin University (CDU), researching employee turnover and retention strategies in the VET sector.

Khim’s passion for international education is rooted in his own journey as an international student. He is committed to creating supportive, inclusive environments where international learners can thrive. His involvement with ISANA reflects his dedication to contributing to sector-wide improvements, strengthening student wellbeing, and ensuring high-quality experiences for all international students.

As the newly appointed Vice-President, Khim seeks to enhance governance, promote operational transparency, and foster collaborative engagement across ISANA Victoria. Building on his experience as the Tasmania Representative, he is committed to supporting strategic growth, advancing quality improvement initiatives, and contributing his high-level professional expertise to further ISANA’s mission and ongoing work.

Khim values integrity, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. His leadership approach is grounded in empathy, research-informed practice, and a strong commitment to enhancing the student experience and supporting colleagues across the sector.

Khim has authored several English practice books that have been widely used by primary to secondary level students in Nepal. He enjoys community engagement, mentoring, and exploring innovative approaches to teaching, learning, and educational leadership.

Eve Ollerenshaw

Eve has over 40 years working and leading in education with over 30 years involved with international students. Extensive industry network (provider, government, political), advocacy skills, analytical and benchmarking skills.

Eve is passionate about the sharing of cultures, values, beliefs and learning from people all around the world. Knowing that every student and every person working in education brings something of value to the table. Our students are both our present and our future, and every bit as fragile as the planet on which we live.

Eve has a vision of empowerment, education and support for all our wonderful people working with our students. She contributes by utilising her advocacy skills and speaking skills to enhance and secure a prosperous learning environment for students.

Eve approach is people-centric and stems from a strong belief in and respect for every individual. We all have something to contribute, and we all deserve to be listened to.

When not working, Eve loves to exercise, read, visit art galleries and spend time with her dog, Bowie.

Angela Leota

About Angela

Works at Victoria University Sydney as Student Services Coordinator.

Angela has a solid professional background in international higher education, with extensive experience in student services and support for international cohorts. Her expertise includes compliance processes, student advising, cross-cultural communication, and collaboration with academic and professional stakeholders to enhance the international student experience.

ISANA supports staff capability, professional credibility and continuous improvement in International Student Advising.

During her term as a member of ISANA, she aims to focus on initiatives that enhance professional development for international student advisers and promote best-practice strategies in student support. She also plans to contribute to knowledge-sharing and networking opportunities that strengthen the international student experience across institutions.

Kash brings experience in international student engagement, media, and program management, with a focus on creating meaningful experiences for students.

Kash is passionate about helping international students thrive academically, socially, and professionally, and joined ISANA to contribute to a supportive and inclusive community.

Kash aims to enhance ISANA’s communication strategies, highlight student stories, and strengthen engagement across all branches.

Kash values transparency, collaboration, and creativity, and enjoys connecting people and ideas to make a real impact.

Outside work, Kash enjoys acting, running his café, and exploring cultural events.

About Amy

Works at ACT Education Directorate

Amy has extensive experience in the school sector, focusing on international education programs for students under 18 years old. Her work includes stakeholder engagement, program development, and service delivery.

Amy is passionate about creating safe and supportive pathways for younger international students, helping them access quality education and fostering cultural exchange.

Amy’s vision is to strengthen international education in schools by improving processes, supporting agents and families, and ensuring a positive experience for students under 18.

Amy values integrity, inclusiveness, and collaboration. She approaches challenges with flexibility and a practical mindset, using data and technology to deliver solutions that benefit students and stakeholders.

Amy loves spending time in nature and enjoys anything creative, from exploring outdoor landscapes to engaging in artistic projects.
