The focus of the branch is to provide support, professional development activities, and networking opportunities for professionals working in International Education. All meetings and Professional Development workshops are open to all International Educators in ACTiveNSW and interstate.

About Betty

Works at GEA Navigate Pty Ltd.

She has over a decade of experience in Australian education institutions, student recruitment, admissions, compliance, partnership arrangement and international relations. In 2026 she transitioned to the agency side, gaining a broader view of global student pathways and sector-wide trends. Her strengths lie in fostering collaborative partnerships, supporting high-quality student experiences, and promoting best practices across the international education ecosystem.

She’s inspired by the transformative impact international education has on students, institutions, and global communities. She joined ISANA because it brings together passionate professionals who share a commitment to student wellbeing, ethical practice, and sector-wide excellence, and she looks forward to contributing to that collective impact.

Her focus for as NSW & ACT President is to strengthen professional connections and knowledge sharing across ACT and NSW, ensuring all members feel supported and empowered in their work. She aims to champion initiatives that enhance student experience, build sector capability, and promote meaningful international collaboration.

She’s guided by a collaborative, student-centred approach grounded in integrity, inclusiveness, and continuous learning. I believe strong relationships and open communication are essential to creating sustainable, positive change in our sector.

Outside of work, she enjoys connecting with diverse communities, exploring local food scenes, travelling around and discovering new places whether close to home or abroad.

About Stefan

Works at Southern Academy of Higher Education

With over a decade of experience in international education, he specialises in systemisation, automation, and process refinement to support the growth and compliance of start-up providers. His expertise spans international student recruitment, agent management, and brand building, with a strong track record in driving operational efficiency and student engagement across diverse markets

He’s inspired by the transformative impact of international education—empowering students to achieve their goals and fostering global understanding. He joined ISANA to contribute to sector-wide best practice, share knowledge, and collaborate with peers committed to student success and institutional quality.

During his term, he aims to champion initiatives that streamline admissions processes, enhance agent engagement, and promote the adoption of automation and data-driven decision-making within member institutions. His approach is collaborative, transparent, and focused on delivering practical outcomes that benefit both students and providers.

His guiding values are honesty, integrity, consistency, and continuous improvement. He believes in open communication, practical problem-solving, and empowering teams through supportive, transparent leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

Outside of work, he enjoys travelling through Asia and studying (sometimes a bit too much on the side). He’s passionate about mountain biking, which he’s used as a platform to contribute positively to children’s cancer research initiatives.

Brasish works at The Institute of International Studies

Brasish brings over eight years of experience in international education, having recruited 5,000+ students for leading Australian institutions. His expertise spans business development, strategic partnerships, and ethical recruitment across diverse markets. As a former international student himself and an accredited Mental Health First Aider, he understands firsthand the challenges students face and is committed to creating supportive pathways for their success.

His journey as an international student in Australia ignited his passion for helping others navigate their own educational dreams. He knows what it feels like to step into a new country, adapt to a new culture, and work toward a brighter future. This personal connection drives everything he does. He joined ISANA because he believes in the power of community—when educators, institutions, and students come together, incredible things happen.

He wants to amplify student voices and share their inspiring stories. He aims to strengthen connections across ISANA branches and use his multimedia expertise to showcase the real impact of international education on students’ lives.

He believes in keeping things real—transparency, genuine collaboration, and meeting people where they are. He loves connecting people and ideas, and believes that when we listen to each other and work together with empathy, we create something meaningful that truly matters.

When he’s not working, Brasish is a Music Artist, community leader, Fitness Enthusiast and Traveller. He speaks five languages and finds joy in connecting with people globally.

Nona has over a decade of experience in international education, specialising in partner relationship management, student recruitment, and cross-cultural engagement across Australia and Asia. Nona strengths include building strong provider partnerships, delivering high-quality agent/counsellor training, and guiding students to align their goals with the right academic pathway. With deep sector knowledge and a people-centered approach, Nona brings expertise in strategy, communication, and creating meaningful education outcomes.

Nona is inspired by the transformative impact international education has on people’s lives — seeing students find their path, grow in confidence, and build a future in a new country is what keeps her passionate about this sector. Nona joined ISANA because it represents the heart of the industry: collaboration, best-practice student support, and a community of professionals who genuinely care. Being part of ISANA allows her to contribute, learn, and help strengthen the experience of international students across Australia.

In her term, Nona aims to strengthen ISANA’s communication channels by creating clearer, more engaging content that highlights best practices and supports the diverse member community. She is committed to amplifying stories, insights, and resources that enhance the experience of international education professionals and the international students they serve.

Nona’s guiding value is to always put student wellbeing at the centre of every decision. She approaches her work with integrity, respect, and a strong focus on building trust-based relationships across the industry.

Outside of work, Nona enjoys bushwalking, exploring weekend markets, and sharing life in Australia through podcasts and funny reels.

The ACAP Psychology Clinic provides free services including group work and individual therapy to International Students. No Medicare card, GP plan or other provision is required to access services. Flyer.

Stay Safe in our State – Advice for International Students

NSW Police in partnership with the Council of International Students Australia (CISA) completed a Study NSW co-funded Partner Project to create safety videos for international students studying in NSW.

These videos have been well-received by the international education community.

The videos cover topics such as identifying police in NSW, reporting crime, beach safety, alcohol, road safety, domestic and family violence and personal safety.
