The National Code Tutorial (NCT) is an online training course designed for professionals working in the international education sector to gain knowledge and understanding of the ESOS Act and National Code 2018. The NCT has been developed to be utilised as an ongoing resource to all registered participants.
The National Code is a set of nationally consistent standards that governs the protection of international students and delivery of courses to those students by providers registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS). Only CRICOS courses can be offered to international students studying in Australia on a student visa.
The National Code complements existing national quality assurance frameworks in education and training including the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011(NVETR Act) (for registered vocational education and training providers offering these courses) and the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act) (for institutions offering higher education qualifications).
