Samantha Hilbig
Sam has worked in the International student sector for over 20 years.
After extensive travel around Australia and a year overseas she resided in Darwin for several years working as a conference manager before joining Charles Darwin University. Sam commenced as Admin Assistant in the Student Equity Division and then later as an International Student Facilitator arranging student visas, orientations, accommodation and dealing with all issues relating to International student support.
In 2008, Samantha was appointed both Homestay and Off campus service Coordinator, her role includes looking after family recruitment for 700 hosts, homestay placements of up to 1300 students per year and airport reception services for campuses between Brisbane and the Gold Coast Griffith Homestay.
In her role she has experienced many highs and lows as this role is very diverse and involves interacting with students, families, agents and both internal and external community sectors.
Samantha has been an active member of ISANA for many years including her additional ISANA role of Vice President Professional Development since 2019.
ISANA has provided her with the opportunity to interact with many people from different sectors, develop her skills and create lifelong friendships. Her interests lie in Under 18 welfare and accommodation, professional development and creating resources to benefit members and colleagues in the International sector.
Andy Ng
Andy spent most of his career in Brisbane working with Tertiary students and has over 17 years of experience working with local and international students in the private sector and educational institutions. Andy is currently the Accommodation Officer and Under 18 Guidance Officer (International Students) at Queensland University of Technology. He undertook a number of roles which include assisting domestic and international student’s in their transition into tertiary studies and their accommodation needs. Andy was an international student and have a good understanding of what is like to be an international student living in Australia. Andy has established himself as a hard-working team leader and has always enjoyed a “hands-on” approach to work. Andy is a member of ISANA since 2014 and recently been appointed as treasurer in 2018.
Kevin Schefe
Kevin Schefe represents Allianz Partners Australia in the OSHC Market for Queensland and Northern Territory. Kevin partners with Institutions to drive improvements in health outcomes for international students. Kevin believes in taking a proactive approach to the health and wellbeing of students and is passionate about accessibility of health services for international students. Kevin has a unique understanding of the market he manages as it comprises of both metropolitan and regional locations which often presents differing health requirements and challenges with access to services. Prior to his appointment with Allianz Partners Australia over three years ago, Kevin spent a number of years working in the education sector in a number of leadership roles. Kevin is based in Brisbane, Queensland with his wife and young son and enjoys weekends filled with friends, family and plenty of laughs.
