Helen Rogers is the Early Parenting Program Coordinator with South Eastern Sydney Local Health District. Her role is focused on addressing health outcomes and access for priority populations across pregnancy until a child is 5 years of age. In this role, Helen is responsible for the Cross-Cultural Worker Service in Maternity and Child & Family Health Services. This Service supports access and service navigation for women and families from migrant and refugee backgrounds, including International students, on their pregnancy and early parenting journey, and is also the topic of Helen’s PhD. Helen is a registered nurse/midwife with over 25 years of clinical experience in Australia, the UK, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, and Sudan.
Galuh Sapthari is the Cross-Cultural Worker for Maternity, Child, and Family Health at The Royal Hospital for Women working with migrant women and international students. Galuh has led research projects and worked closely with International Students to better support and promote sexual and reproductive health across the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD). Galuh holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health and has worked in Australia and Indonesia in various roles with a focus on Blood Borne Viruses and Sexual & Reproductive Health including with the IOM, International planned parenthood, and Sydney Local Health District.
