A Day at the Museum – International Student Welcome

The City of Melbourne has a wide range of activities planned for Melbourne International Student Week (MISW) from 7-13 May 2022.

The welcome event will be held at the Immigration Museum on Thursday, May 12, at 10.30am.

Learn about First Peoples culture, histories, and knowledge, meet new friends, win prizes and tuck into a tasty free lunch of indigenous foods from across Australia.

The day will begin with a traditional smoking ceremony and Welcome to Country, followed by an interactive dance workshop by the Djirri Djirri dancers, a free delicious lunch of indigenous foods (there may even be emu or kangaroo on the menu) catered by Mabu Mabu, museum tours, and opportunities to make new friends. There will even be a museum scavenger hunt with lots of incredible prizes to win!

Bring your friends, make some new ones, and enjoy a fun-filled day of food, culture, creativity, and connection.

After the tour, there is opportunity for you to casually visit the many exhibitions in the museum with your group of students.
