The best tools to avoid being scammed are being educated and informed. Run by Consumer Affairs Victoria, this workshop aims to provide you with the tools and tips to understanding renting a room or property in Melbourne. This interactive 50-minute workshop will provide you with opportunity to explore the different types of student accommodation and understand the challenges encountered by many international students in Victoria, as well as tips on how to guide and support students through the complaints process. This session will cover: Types of accommodation options for students How students can protect themselves Common scams and warning signs Fees, deposits and lodging a bond What to expect when moving out How the complaints process works Where to find help.
