Cansu COL

About Cansu

Cansu COL is an education leader, project manager, and inclusion specialist with over 10 years of experience across the vocational and higher education sectors in Australia. Her work spans academic operations, compliance, education design, and student experience, with a strong focus on equity, wellbeing, and culturally responsive practice.

Cansu has held senior roles including Academic Manager and education consultant, leading large-scale programs aligned with ESOS, National Code, and regulatory frameworks. She is the Founder of Education Principles, delivering consultancy in learner experience, digital education design, and professional development ecosystems.

A passionate advocate for international students and diverse communities, Cansu brings both professional and lived experience to her leadership. She actively contributes to sector advancement through her roles with ISANA, the Forcibly Displaced People’s Network (FDPN), and community-based initiatives supporting migrant and LGBTIQ+ communities ( Anatolian Queers).

As VIC | TAS Branch President, Cansu is committed to strengthening cross-sector collaboration, advancing gender-based violence prevention and policy implementation, and enhancing professional practice across the international education sector. She is particularly focused on building inclusive, trauma-informed systems that improve student safety, belonging, and success.

Ruby Lee

About Ruby

Ruby Lee brings over 15 years of invaluable experience in the higher education sector, with a strong emphasis on supporting international students. Her expertise spans partnership management, marketing, communications, and alumni engagement.

Currently serving as the Partnerships and Engagement Manager at the Faculty of Science, Engineering, and Built Environment, Deakin University since 2021, Ruby plays a pivotal role in fostering global connections and enhancing the experience of international students. She oversees four key portfolios, including international collaborations, student engagement and transition initiatives, work-integrated learning programs, and school outreach endeavours.

Ruby is deeply committed to nurturing the growth of future leaders from diverse cultural backgrounds. She prioritises building enduring institutional partnerships, ensuring positive student experiences, and enhancing graduate employability, all while championing the unique needs and challenges faced by international students in their academic journey.

Arun Bansal

About Arun

Arun works at Bansal Immigration Consultants and is a registered migration agent and legal professional with over a decade of experience, including nine years practicing law in Punjab. Since moving to Australia in 2018, he has specialised in the education consultancy and immigration sectors at Bansal Immigration Consultants. He now supports clients by providing expert guidance through complex educational and migration pathways.

Arun is passionate about helping individuals and families navigate their education and migration journeys with clarity, confidence, and the right support.

He joined ISANA to contribute his legal and migration expertise while supporting a more informed, inclusive, and student-focused international education sector.

As Secretary for the Vic/Tas Branch, Arun hopes to support strong branch coordination, meaningful member engagement, and practical initiatives that benefit international students and professionals across the sector. Arun values professionalism, integrity, collaboration, and a client-centred approach.

Charlie Soon

About Charlie

Charlie brings extensive experience in student accommodation and engagement, spanning over 10 years in both local and international settings. Currently serving as the Senior Student Accommodation Engagement Coordinator at Monash University, Charlie is adept at supporting students as they navigate their transition into tertiary studies and address their accommodation needs. Having been an international student herself, Charlie possesses a deep understanding of the challenges faced by international students in Australia. With a hands-on approach and a proven track record in team leadership, Charlie is committed to ensuring high-level client services and continuous improvement. As a new member of ISANA and serving as the Communications Officer for 2024, Charlie will actively contribute to the tertiary student community.

Khagendra Satyal

About Khagendra

Khagendra Satyal is currently the Business Development Manager at Central Australian College, bringing extensive experience in international education, student support, and sector collaboration. In this role, he leads strategic initiatives to strengthen partnerships with education agents, design programs that support international student success, and contribute to sustainable organisational growth.

He has a strong track record in supporting international students across academic progression, wellbeing, and settlement, ensuring a positive, inclusive, and student-centred experience. His work involves close collaboration with internal teams, sector stakeholders, and community organisations to enhance student engagement, retention, and overall outcomes.

In addition to his professional expertise, Khagendra has demonstrated leadership within the Tasmanian community. He has served as Past President of the Nepali Society of Tasmania and as Treasurer of the Australian Nepalese Journalist Association, contributing to cultural initiatives, community engagement, and student-focused activities that foster inclusion and connection.

With a strong understanding of the Tasmanian education landscape, a commitment to student wellbeing, and experience in sector and community development, Khagendra contributes to ISANA as the Tasmania Representative, supporting the VIC/TAS branch and advancing ISANA’s mission.
